It\'s not a joke. Joseph Smith was wrong. Remember, Jesus said there would be no other Prophet after Him.

And Joseph Smith claimed to be one? Uh uh. Sorry.

I find it humerous that that was your 666 post!

But seriously. . . do you have a reference verse for that?

I\'m a history buff. I read it back in college. Back then, only a few people knew what "internet" meant.

666, eh? MWAHAHAHAHA!

Anyway, back then, I was in a religious debate with another religious person who was trying to convert me to their church. Mind you, I am religious but not in the church going kind of way. I don\'t preach, I don\'t sermon people, I live and let live. But when someone is trying to convert ME? Nuh uh. Ain\'t gonna happen. i\'m happy this way.

They\'re Desciples of Christ. Are you saying that Joseph Smith was a desciple?

HA!

EDIT : Or Apostles....whatever.

EDIT #2 : Remember, Quetzelquatle (sp?) was a dragon, not Jesus, as Joseph Smith thought.

because people feel the need to beleive in something.

More and more people in every generation grow up without beleif, it doesn\'t mean they are worse people, it\'s just that we havn\'t been brainwashed. Don\'t feel sad for me, I feel my own satisfactions without having to beleive in some superstitious idols.

I think you\'ll find that more than any other single religion (although I may be very wrong). If a religion was right, only one would be right, and therefore everyone else would be wrong. they may be religious but they would still be wrong. In my opinion, all religious people are wrong.

Uh... Right...  And was Buddha a big FAT GUY with HUGE EAR-LOBES....   NO.
Sometimes the stories passed down through generations become Icons that are distorted from reality to show symbolism.  Kind of like the torture device known as the CROSS becoming a symbol of something holy.

Oh... and Paul Bunion (sp?)  wasn\'t 50 feet tall and he didn\'t have a blue ox.  sorry to ruin that for you.

Look, mormon..I\'m not trying to convert you. Just find out for yourself. You\'ll see what I mean about old Joseph Smith. His translations were all wrong on those Incan(or was it Mayan?) writings.

And again, go here to get an idea about Quetzalcoatl

Yeah, he did turn into a serpent.

And he\'s an Aztec god. Oops. sorry, not Incan.

Yay!! SOmeone finally called someone else directly "mormon" gotta love the ignorance in that. Of course I hear that every day of my life from people I know who call me "mormon" just because it is my nick name, although a little appreciated one.

Do people always have to be right? Do you know that Joseph Smith and Brigham Young thought that people lived on the moon?? They can\'t be prophets you say. Well, The London Observor (or whatever it is called) reported back in the 1800\'s of the existence of people living on the moon, it was a common belief back then. If someone walked up to Joseph Smith and said "You know the Incans worshipped a guy with holes in his hands, name was Quetzacoatl" He wouldn\'t need to pray and ask God about it, he could use his brain and relate it to Jesus Christ.

Prophet is just a name really for someone who is a disciple of Christ. Wasn\'t it John in Revelations who foretold the Second Coming?? foretelling is PROPHECIZING!!! If someone was arguing with you back in college and told you that Jesus said no more prophets were going to be after them, they were severely wrong.

In all actuality, Amos 3:7 says- "Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets"

Showing that God\'s true church is led by prophets.

Hey, all I gotta say is, if Mormonism is fake, it was organized by people who actually read the Bible and doesn\'t contradict itself over and over. Whatever floats your boat, though. Just don\'t make up false things about the church, please.

Not making things up. And John the Baptist was born before Jesus...so that supports my claim the Jesus was the last Prophet.

Get it right.....

And eat your veggies.

EDIT! Oops...got your John\'s mixed up! :D

He fortold the second coming coz Jesus told him he\'d be BACK! Remember? After His resurrection and He met his desciples again, Jesus told them that He would return? There you go!

No worries, I\'m not really a practicing mormon I tend to lean more toward their beliefs only because I was raised mormon and was ordained a priest before I stopped going.  I really just like to debate the stuff.

I read all of the books, (The Bible, The Book of Mormon...etc.)  I learned alot from them all, but the book that changed my life the most was "Way of the Peacefull Warrior."

Has anyone else read this???    It\'s not a religious book but it made me see that there are no ordinary moments.

and then Jesuis told him of the Seven Seals in great detail, and then, and then, etc. It isn\'t a short book. Revelations is a good number of chapters and quite an interesting read.

how can you deny that John was a prophet, when, at random, a verse says this: Chapter 5, verse 1 of Rev - "And I saw in the right hand of him that sat on the throne a book written within and on the backside, sealed with seven seals."

He SAW, or for better words, it was revealed to him through the Spirit, otherwise known as PROPHECY. Did you sleep through your religion class?

Nowhere in the Bible will you see Jesus Christ saying that he would be the last prophet on the Earth. I guarantee it.
