I believe the original 3DO model (Panasonic) came with a pack-in game called "Crash\'N\'Burn".

The Saturn also had a pack-in game, with "Clockwork Knight", if I remember correctly. I\'m not sure that was the name of it, but either way it was a platform game.

Then again, I may be wrong on both systems.

the saturn was 399$ at launch and included NO pack in games

you are correct LIC, the panasonic 3DO came with a demo disk and Crash n\' Burn

the Goldstar 3DO came with nothing

both launched for $599 USD   :eek:

Darn, I thought the Saturn came with a game. I remember the surprise launch and the price tag and I also remember not being able to afford one....I eventually bought a Saturn when it came with three free games (Virtua Cop, VF2 and Daytona USA).

By the way, Crash\'N\'Burn is terrible. I own it . I can\'t imagine anyone playing the demo for that and then thinking, "wow, I have to buy that game".


On another note, the comment about the Xbox having "all the top developers". I\'d like to make note that the 3DO also had "all the top developers" developing for it. Did it help? No.

Nostalgia time...

Master System was the last stand alone console to play games on 2 different formats.

Right?

Turbo Duo doesn\'t count as the CD was originally separate.

By the way, what were the 2 games loaded into the console itself? Snail Maze and......?

Ginko...

Capcom did support the DC well and not just with RE.

M v C 1 & 2, SF 3: DI & 3rd Strike, some shooters, Cannon Spike, JoJo\'s Bizarre Adventure, Dino Crisis, etc.

Compared to Sony, Nintendo, & MS, the DC still has more support, for now.

Capcom was the strongest supporter for the DC from day one and until the very end. The amazing thing was, Capcom supported them in a wide range of genre\'s, as mentioned by Ash. Yes, they did put out RE:CV, but they also put out the Street Fighter series, Marvel vs Capcom franchise and then they even went on to put out a couple shooters, one notable one being the great Cannon Spike. Capcom was the leading third party support for Sega durin\' the Saturn era and they continued the trend during the DC. And if you look at any of the systems at this point, you still won\'t see such strong support from Capcom, as compared to their ventures with Sega.

Odd, isn\'t it?

I thought Cannon Spike was rather shallow and boring. Beat it once and that was about it. Expected Contra and got.....something NOT Contra.

You don\'t have to hope, XBox will sell more consoles.  With the price drop and E3 right around the corner, XBox will have a bright future.  All 3 companies will benefit.

All consoles are great?  Would you buy a car that was leaking oil?  Most people dont have money to waste.  Just buy the Playstation 2 and nothing else until they prove they can have the quality of Playstation 2 and the 3rd party support.
