Movies rip of movies... Who cares, it\'s been done sense the start of film time. Tron most likely ripped of something else. Blade Runner seems to get ripped off quite a bit.  It doesn\'t matter...
The effect labelled "Matrix effect" was in the movie "Lost in space" as the effect for when they go to hyperspace or whatever the hell it\'s called before matrix was released. It was probably in another movie before then too. It will always be this way.

It\'s hard to do what\'s already been done before.
I personally liked the second matrix better (mainly for the MA) but scenes were drawn out to long. Which got tiresome, I\'ve seen the first matrix so many times it now bores me.

The game i\'ll be getting tomorrow hopefully. I\'ll give my opinions on it after i\'ve played (completed) it.

I hate the fact that in films like Deuce Bigalow,Scary Movie,Charlies Angels,Kung Pow and Shrek that they have to take the piss out of the bullet time effect...it was funny at first but not now.thats why Larry and Andy have decided to do things in this movie that can\'t be copied.

The Matrix = Blade Runner Clone...err...NO I\'m afraid it isn\'t.

The Matrix = Successful Action Kung Fu Movie...YES

Why does eveyone think The Matrix is aimed at The MTV Generation?

I like good movies...and I like The Matrix for it\'s complex storyline and great fight scenes...plus Laurence Fishburne really does stand out as Morpheus.

It\'s like for example, I love Peter Jackson\'s early stuff, 20 years before The Rings trilogy.

all you guys can sit behind your pcs and slag off and compare The Matrix to every sci-fi movie going, but it doesn\'t change the fact that for every 100 of you who DO slag it off,there\'s 200 who will love it.

I loved watching The Matrix, and the bullet time or special effects just made it better.

So please stop saying they MAKE the film, because it does have a decent plot behind it.

If you don\'t like it then don\'t watch it.

I for one, believe it will go down in history, not just for it\'s success, but because Larry and Andy Wachowski have really pushed it beyond the limits, considering they weren\'t your Ridley Scott or Steven Spielberg prior to The Matrix.
Ladies, ladies, LADIES!...Jay and Silent Bob are in the hizz-house!

Before I watched the Matrix I knew almost nothing about the movie. The only thing I knew about the movie was some original effects I happened to watch accidentally from a movie program.

So no way I was affected by any form of hype.Actually I began hyping the movie to my friends after I watched it because I liked it so much.
And it was the plot. The effects, fighting scenes of the movie and the general idea of humans ruled by machine etc arent enough to make me like a movie.Because it wasnt just that. These were there just to spice it up and add style as well to create a motive for the plot.

Sorry if the only thing you experienced from the movie was the surface of the plot.

BTW: You like playing the prescient arent u?:)

Perhaps good cinema is according to ur personal tastes.Oh well mine and others\' opinion doesnt count then:D

plain and simple, the matrix is pop culture

consider me, in all things, the anti-pop

it\'s not that yer opinion doesn\'t count, it\'s just misguided

go watch blade runner and tell me it wasn\'t a better film

Bladerunner is a great film, way head of it\'s time. It was a flop at the cinema when it was first released too.

I did watch blade runner. Some years ago.Great movie.I dont find it logical to compare Matrix with Blade Runner though. Each of those two films were great with their own distinctive style and plot.
(I still remember the neon sign with the Attari logo on it:))

My opinion was misguided by whom, by what?
