Great you just proved something Quddus, that different strokes for different folks I could give you 100 reasons why Madden was better than ESPN and vice versa and neither of us would change our minds. Madden still ROCKS

They are both great games but I disagree with Madden being a sim and ESPN being arcadey. I thought the playcalling and gameplay was a lot more realistic in ESPN.

I can seriously run back 2-3 kickoffs/punts a game in Madden using any team. The control is THAT unrealistic. You can turn any player with decent speed into Barry Sanders.

why don\'t you join our madden league here and see how many kickoffs / punts you will return per game.  I never play against the computer anymore, way too easy to just have my way with it.

Yea, when you play against the computer you don\'t get the same feel as if it was me kicking Jbeans ass like always. Try Madden online against some of us and see what you think then. Madden is more set to play other people it changes alot of things.

All I play against is other people. When my buddies come by we toss in Madden.

Single player gets played the first couple of weeks after the game comes out. After that its all multiplayer.

Have you guys seen the recent football friday?  It\'s something which is in junction with operation sports.  Go to operationsports.com and click on the most recent news link which reads, ESPN NFL 2005 6-11-04, and watch the 3 new movies.  That whole juke with the right analog stick looks nice.  They also have videos of the halftime show with video highlights, unfortunately if you have a PS2, you will need the HDD or you will only see still images.

Well I was once a madden head and ragged on espn. Till I finally went and played it. I liked nfl 2k on dc but I always felt that it was nowhere close to madden.

Clips kept bragging on it so I went and rented it and ended up buying the game. And I tell you I have not played madden since.

But like you guys have all said to each his own.

Awards are one thing, but I don\'t care what editors think about games anymore especially pre-final builds.  That means nothing to me.

ESPN is more like an arcade football game and those of you who think ESPN is bad because of that fact just have your heads in the clouds.  But when it comes to choosing between Madden and ESPN, it\'s a matter of preference.  I for one enjoy the fact that ESPN isn\'t as rigid with its gameplay as Madden tends to be.  I love that ESPN is so smooth and has the running game that I enjoy.  It\'s this type of game that I personally prefer just as I would Ace Combat to Flight Simulator or Ridge Racer to Gran Turismo.  I don\'t need the excessive realism.  I like being able to tweak it as I see fit.  I like how fast it plays.

But that\'s just me...

just goes to show you\'re sheep.."no matter what madden is the greatest blah blah blah"...i used to be like you i bought madden faithfully i never gave espn a 2nd look...i\'ve had espn since it came out and just the other day i\'ve heard a comment made that i haven\'t heard before! abd i\'ve had the game since it came out!

that said the presentation,.. halftime shows..primetime..these are what set espn from madden and i already stated espn plays more realistically..for years we as players wanted a decent halftime show..we wanted updates from week to week..yes it\'s all cosmetic but this is what espn has and that is what you see on television...that\'s a fact..you cats act like you\'re on EA\'s payroll..

At twenty dollars, even if you\'re a total friggin Madden whore, it can\'t hurt to try it.  Heck, twenty bucks these days for some cars isn\'t even enough to fill up a full tank of gas and we\'re talking about hours and hours of fun here. :)
