MLB Playoffs - Can this year top last years?
« Reply #180 on: October 22, 2004, 02:30:43 PM »
Thank you blade, but I never ever ever said the Yankees were better than the Red Sox after the Sox won, your putting words in my mouth now. Yea the better team won, is that ok to say, the Yankees choked the Red Sox deserved to win, I\'d much rather have the 96 Yankees on the field then this group, and I\'d much rather see a lower payroll with a few stars and good solid role players and a sold 3 pitchers and a good solid bullpen like we had this year that god washed out because of how many times they appeared in the season. So please do not put words in my mouth, and ROL don\'t call me something I\'m not especially when you don\'t know me, I have my reasons for rooting for the Astros as they are from Texas I live here and I\'m from New Jersey does everything connect now asswhipe???

Jeter whatever man thats laughable. He also said that this wasn\'t the same team as in past years. Red Sox are a great ball club, and built for the post season, but think what happens if Schilling goes down again and when Pedro gets rocked by the Cards batters

I think you guys got it all wrong......I like the red sox much more than the yankees, and yes they won the series with an amazing comeback, but i still think the yanks are a better team. I think they are the most skilled team in baseball. I think the yankees just sort of slacked off when they got up 3-0, but as soon as that happened the sox took 2 and after that, they had all the momentum, and they became unstoppable.

I also think the sox will win the series. There\'s no such thing as a curse, and that\'s stupid to believe in. The sox have so much momentum going into this series after that historical comeback that I dont think an all star team could beat them.

Obviously the Yankees are not the better team cloud, this was apparent by their makeshift pitching staff.

Of course the Yankees were better.  They paid more money for their players.

Word :(

*wants Carlos Beltran*

See Yuz.
What do Kerry Wood, Mark Prior, Matt Clement, and Carlos Zambrano have in common?

They\'re the pieces to the next great pitching rotation of our time, what else?

GO CUBS!

Red Sox take game 1 in a fashion more exciting than I had wished, but it was entertaining none the less.

Red Sox 11, Cardinals 9

BOS leads 1-0

Tomorrow\'s Starters: Curt Schilling vs. Matt Morris

Schilling is still 50/50 to me, but I could see him stepping up again.  Morris is a Seton Hall Alumnus, but I will never root against the Sox.

Methinks that this should be a surprisingly  light/easy series.

Curt, Pedro, and D.Lowe should be revved up enough to hold the Cards down.

You\'d be suprised what the sox could pull off...
