HL2 is out/unlocked!

On another Source note - looks like Vampire is getting hammered for bad combat,etc.

well.. i\'m only 4 hours into the game. and here\'s what i have to say:

Its an RPG. even with HL2 engine, the game combat mechanics arent those of an FPS. Gamespot as given a low 7.7 to the game, and gamers, base on 300 reviews average 9.3

So its either the gamespot reviewer is full of shit and can go back playing HL2 for all i care or the other 300 gamers are "fanboiz" that would rate this game higher then it should be.

In 4 hours of gameply, the story already is great, the graphic are jawdroping (HLengine), and the "M" rating sure shows everywhere.

if yuo can and it runs as good as hl2 then i am SOLD !

going to pick that one up at the weekned...should be finished with my first run of HL2 by then. (up to 3 AM last night playing HL2 BTW [firstgame in a longwhile that i have done that with)

I swear this game never ceases to amaze me with such little details.  I don\'t know if anyone else has seen this before:

[sp]I was at the dam after finishing off the assault helicopter and killing a few combine soldiers.  I was running over to where you open the dam gate - stopped near the helicopter pad and used the zoom feature to check out the area where I was heading and who do I see? G-man just standing there in the distance!  I hear a noise so I look around quickly - seeing nothing so look back to where the G-man was and he is gone!  I am like WTF!?!?![/sp]

Where the hell is the CD-Key. I just installed in on my computer and I thought I put the right key in but it\'s telling me no.

I thought the CD-Key was on the back on the disk 1 sleeve, am I wrong? The format for the key is something like: 1111-22222-3333-AAAAA... but the only number I see starts off with 5 characters, not four. Someone please help..

CD key is just the first line of characters.  2nd line don\'t worry about.

Just finished the game and have to say BLOODY HELL... me wants more

Thinking of starting again...but ravenholt and them black headcrabs still scare the shit out of me :eek:.[/sp]

Half-Life Source is not worth the effort, I should know, I have it. All it is, is the weapons have bettter textures, a better physics engine and the water from HL2, on the whole tho\', the game looks the same. Not even up to par with the Half-Life HD mods. Best bet is to wait for people to mod it with the SDK and do a full conversion.

I have yet to beat the game. Having to split time among CoH /  TV / Work and many other things. By the time I finish it, Half-Life 3 will be out.

Production values are very good, but sometimes kludgy animation sticks out.

The Source engine is great, but physics and animation can be choppy.

The RPG part of the game is great, but poor AI puts a dent in the combat system.

Is is a problem with steam AGAIN ?

/me wonders if they will do official expansion disks like Opposing force and blue shift for HL2.

I am going to start again when i get home from work...in between Play CS:source (found one server (AMD4FUN server)that works no thanks to steam)

I\'ll wait for the new computer to arrive before playing though the whole game again, I want to experience everything at maximum settings. Till then I’m just going to fool around on a few of the chapters.

Yeah that was quite disappointing. I was hoping for new weapons models as well as character models. But oh well.

I hope Day of Defeat is unlocked soon, should be more fun then CS.
And if I’m not mistaken DoD should be totally reworked like CS Source is?

DoD is totaly reworked like CS: Source is, but I don\'t know how extensive the redesign is or what new maps there are.

I just beat HL2 and though the ending was nothing spectacular, I enjoyed every moment getting there, especially the last sequence of events.  Wow.  Just amazing stuff.
