Well, I just returned from the midnight session of Episode 3:

I thought it was kind of weired seeing it all backwards. I left the movies thinking man I wanna see what vador is going to do next.
Best episode by far. The  battle between Obi vs skywalker was just awesome.

hmm i haven\'t seen the movie, don\'t plan on seein it, but let me guess...the black guy dies right? .....ahhh well hollywood have been pretty decent lately as far as killing off the black guy in films early on in the film...sheeit back in the day a black actor would only last in the opening credits of the movie..

Just saw Episode 4 this morning, since I finally saw Epidose 3 Friday night.

Mang....as I was watching Obi Wan duel with Darth Vader, I thought about their first duel in Ep. 3. I came to the conclusion that Darth Vader was just taunting old man Ben Kenobi in Ep. 4. He could have off\'d him anytime.

[sp]Well all the jedi are pretty much killed. I was just making a joke about the movie. Nothing serious just talking shots at lucas. The only black jedi around gets knocked off. Yo Samuel got his ass handed to him  by young skywalker.  It was pretty awesome. [/sp]

I completely loved it.


But the dialogue, as some of you are pointing out, was totally pitiful at times.


Seriously, some of thew most poinent moments in Star Wars history were tainted with some of the lames lines I\'ve ver heard.

Well considering the relationship between OB1 and Anakin, referring to OB1 as his enemy was a pretty big moment. Not to mention that it led to OB1\'s realization that, yes, he had to kill Anakin. "Only a Sith deals in absolutes".

That scene was probably Hayden\'s best performance in the entire movie. I guess the audition for the part of Anakin was simply the line "LIIIAAAR!".

That\'s what I was saying... for such a profound moment you\'d think he coulda come up with something a litle more dramatic than that.


The "only a sith deals in absolutes" was ok.

[sp]Why was it so easy knock off all the Jedi "Masters?"  Getting zotted in the back by a gddamn clone is not a very believable way for a Jedi to go down.  Why were Yoda and Obiwan the only ones bright enough to dodge the bullet?

I remember in episodes IV – VI when we heard how Vader "betrayed and murdered" the Jedi back in the day, I always figured it would have been done in a much more underhanded way.  You\'ve got to acknowledge that the Jedi are a force to be reckoned with, so for one or two Sith to take them all out should have required a very devious plan.  I figured it would have been done in true dark-side manner, by tricking them into a situation where they couldn\'t fight back.  Like maybe blow up a planet they were on, or poison them or something.  It would have strengthened this story to make that a little more interesting.

I also didn\'t understand why Vader was so trusting of the Emperor at the end.  For several scenes, Palpatine was suggesting that only by joining the dark side would Anakin be able to learn the unnatural power of restoring life to Padme.  He holds this carrot out for Anakin, then when Anakin helps him off Windu, Palpatine continues:  "As I was saying… together, I\'m sure you and I could discover the lost skill of restoring life…"  WHAT?  You mean you never knew it to begin with????  If I were Anakin, I would have jabbed Palpatine in the crotch with my light sabre on general principles.  Later, Palpatine tells Vader "Oh… it seems you accidentally killed Padme, dumbfuck."  AND HE BELIEVES IT???  When exactly does he find out that one of his children actually lived?  Sometime between Episodes IV & V, I guess.  I wonder how the Emperor broke that news to him?  Should have been another opportunity for a light sabre stroke to Palpatine\'s testicles, in my opinion.

I also didn\'t quite accept that it was so easy for Obiwan to sever Vader\'s legs at the end of the battle.  Their sabre battle seemed like a total standoff until that point.  They set it up in an obvious manner… Obiwan saying "don\'t try it!  I have the high ground!"  Then he tries it anyway.  I guess this was supposed to be some nugget of light sabre dueling wisdom that we can\'t appreciate.  Well, I didn\'t appreciate it.  [/sp]
Overall, good movie though.

simply put, different masters have skills in different fields.
Yoda pretty much has them all, being over 800 years old probably gave him plenty of time.
Obi-wan has high defensive sabre skills and high diplomatic skills. Basically some are guardians, some are Sentianals and some are Consulars. Its pretty much written like this in the books and games. In other words, some jedis study, some fight, others negotiate.

Is that supposed to be an answer to my criticisms?  [sp]If those Jedi Masters didn\'t have enough defensive skills to avoid being blizasted by some dumb clones, then they shoulda been back on the homeworld studying the Jedi Torah or whatever.[/sp]
