I want them to get back to the good ol\' raccoon city type games. This game just comes off as too arcade like. Too many enemies, too much ammo, too much not like zombies, and I know I\'m being a little picky, but I hate how the ammo and stuff glows red and blue. It just takes away from the realistic environment. For me the demo came off more of an action game than a survival horror game.

I want RE1 style back.   I want that atmosphere back!

never played RE1.. couldn\'t stand the control. Felt so wrong to have to press up to have your character move forward in the backward direction
can\'t see why not!

I agree...the tight corridors of the mansion and atmosphere was great....not to mention i thought the eerie soundtrack when you first entered the mansion hallway was superb. They really need to get back to slow moving zombies at some point.

I think it can still work...they can have slow moving zombies, but have like a faster moving creature like the one that was in the very first RE...i forgot the name of the creature, but it looked a huge mutant frog or something...the RE series, while it\'s still good, needs to go back to it\'s roots...but maybe it\'s at the point of no return....28 days later changed the way we view zombies and zombie games forever.

i\'ve tried the demo. Sadly, this isn\'t for me. The game controls are awkward and non-functionnal. The graphic and music create a really great ambiance. I liked the demo for everything except the controls.

While i feel RE5 will be great, i\'ve always liked the series in this order...2,1,4,3,....code veronica comes in a distant last. But this vid here shows how much atmosphere the series had early in it\'s life. And even tho the graphics by today\'s standards are weak, i still think the monsters and mutants found in the earlier games were a bit more disturbing than what we\'ve seen in prt4 at least.

And let\'s be honest...who didn\'t s**t bricks the first time "mister x" or RE2\'s version of the nemesis?...That guy terrorized you all game long...i miss the dread and tight corridors of the earlier games....:thumb:

did you play RE4?

because i did a couple months ago and almost didnt play the game after i started because of the controls. But after you get over the learning curve it was a great game. i\'d imagine RE5 will be the same for you.

the game would be too easy without these controls

Just played the demo also. Graphics were amazing.... but when I started playing... ehhhhhhh. Too arcadey. Turned it off after another 5 minutes. :running:

Yeah i did notice that...at first i thought it was only going to be in certain area\'s, but now i\'m not so sure...anyway i think the game actually needs it....in RE4 when you were in that ganado camp with the bob-wire and your partner in the helicopter came in to help you,..i found that a cover system would\'ve been a bit more benificial in that area....and the cover system makes chris and the game itself more real.

Some may not like it, but i think it fits the situation....chris should have these advanced moves in the game....he\'s not just a rookie stars member anymore...:p

PS3 RE5 selling nearly with a 4/1 ratio compared to 360.

[PS3] Resident Evil 5 (Capcom) - 222k
[360] Resident Evil 5 (Capcom) - 56k

I kind of wanted to get this on the PS3 but between the size of the install and the shitty water reflections i might have to get it on 360.

still cant decide though because i like the ps3 controller a lot more for re5

it seems like the 360 has slightly better graphic overall than the PS3 version.

According to that website, here is the reason why...

Quote
...In terms of just why Xbox 360 has the edge technically, it seems to be all come down to the set-up of the graphics hardware. Capcom itself rates the triple-core Xenon CPU as being about equal to a dual-core 3.2GHz Pentium 4 Extreme Edition CPU. Not a bad processor as such, but no match for the raw computational power of Cell. However, Capcom has made extensive use of the 10MB of \'EDRAM\' that is directly attached to the Xenos GPU in order to maximise its visual effects. With virtually unlimited bandwidth, effects can be processed enormously quickly. The Cell/RSX combo doesn\'t this advantage, although ironically, the PS2\'s graphics synthesiser does - one of the reasons why full software emulation of the older console is difficult on the PlayStation 3....

Added:  I realized it was developed on the XBOX360 first then the PS3 version later.

Quote
...The technology behind Resident Evil 5 is Capcom\'s very own Framework MT engine...

...It\'s also worthwhile noting that the PS3 version of the engine only began development around a year after the 360 version was up and running...

Crap...so, why RE5 graphics, physics, animations, effects, lighting, scale, textures, AI are utter garbage compared to KillZone2 ?    capcom just ported this game to PS3, developed with 360 in mind ;)

anyway this is coming from IGN and Eurogamer, mmm...anyway, yes, PS3 version is a port. --->

Controls are key for me...that is one of the major reasons why i like the ps3,..because of it\'s controllers...the water isn\'t that great, but you probably won\'t even notice it when it\'s in motion....if it\'s more of a controller issue i\'d say definitely go with the ps3, unless you\'re really strict on graphical superiority..then run with the 360.
