SCEA officially announced today that GTA IV: Episodes from Liberty City is coming to the PlayStation 3 this March 30th, 2010. After the rumors broke out this week from a retailer, SCEA finally confirmed the rumor to be legit. The game will get both the digital and retail disc similar to the XBOX 360 version.

It seems the exclusivity contract of Microsoft with Rockstar finally expired. Now, if you’re itching to get Lost and the Damned and Ballad of Gay Tony on the PS3, now is the time to wait and pre-order!

In the first episode, The Lost and Damned, players will become immersed in the dark underworld of Liberty City and its motorcycle gangs led by Johnny Klebitz and The Lost motorcycle club. Players will follow the shady exploits of Luis Lopez in the second episode, The Ballad of Gay Tony, as he becomes involved in Liberty City’s fast-paced, corrupt nightclub scene. Both episodes feature new vehicles, weapons, and music.

“Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City has been one of the most requested gameplay experiences by PlayStation fans, and we’re thrilled to finally bring the closing chapters of the GTA IV story from one of the biggest franchises in gaming to PS3,” said Rob Dyer, senior vice president of publisher relations, SCEA.

Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City for PS3 will become available in stores on March 30, 2010 in North America at a recommended retail price (RRP) of $39.99. The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony also will be available on the same day in North America to purchase separately on PlayStation®Store via PlayStation Network for $19.99.

Fresh off of the release of Final Fantasy XIII in Japan, Square Enix revealed that they are currently working on five unannounced projects in the latest Famitsu issue. The publisher said that two of those are planned for 2010.
Furthermore, Square Enix is expected to make an announcement related to Dragon Quest later this summer. Could it be related to Dragon Quest X on the Nintendo Wii?
Final Fantasy XIII will be released in North America on March 9th for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

In the latest edition of Famitsu magazine, among lots of other big news, you can find Square Enix revealing the fact that they are working on five new and unannounced projects - quite a lot, wouldn\'t you say?

This is an article that wants your many and different speculations as to what they could be...

Your playing field is very wide - not only does SE own a huge array of their own IP\'s - coveted RPG series for the most part, but after purchasing Eidos in a huge deal last year, they own their IP\'s also, and that means one of these, two of these, or (God forbid) ALL of these could be based on Eidos IP\'s such as Hitman, Tomb Raider, or Thief.

It\'s also expected that Square Enix is going to make an announcement regarding Dragon Quest later this summer (oh boy, announcing your announcement that early?). It could be related to the Wii\'s DQ X, but hey, it could be something else.

EA has demoed it\'s Modern Warfare rival at GDC, unveiling new screens - and new details
We last heard from EA\'s FPS reboot a few weeks ago with what new screens of what appeared to be an Afghanistan-based daytime mission. Now EA has shown off what it describes as the \'scalpel\' portion of the campaign compared to the hoo-rah \'sledgehammer\' all-guns-blazing portion. Check out the new screens below, which seem to show the elite Tier-1 operators doing their covert thing at night.

Sony Santa Monica has announced it has two new projects in pre-production at the studio: a week before its most recent project, God of War III, launches.John Hight, product development director at the studio, told MTV:“We’re jumping right back in, I’ve got a small concept team working on our next product for us.“We’re actually gonna do something different this time, we’re gonna have a short-term concept, a game that we hope to turn out.”So when can we expect to hear of this new project?“I’m not gonna say when.”Oh.“But then, we have a much longer term concept team going through, two teams going on at once.“One with a kind-of long-range, ‘Here’s what we’re gonna do years down the road’, and then another one that’s, ‘Here’s what we’re gonna do as the very next project’.”Awesome stuff. As for now, God of War III is due out for release next week for PS3.

[size=+1]New White Knight Chronicles 2 details[/size]

The latest Famitsu issue contains some new details regarding the upcoming Playstation 3 RPG, White Knight Chronicles 2.
According to the Japanese gaming magazine, the battle gauge in the sequel has been sped up compared to the first game. Furthermore, you can now use the dash ability. White Knight Chronicles 2’s environments will also be more dynamic as the scenery can change with the different seasons and weather patterns. Finally, a new character named Miu will be joining the cast.
RPG fans don’t have to wait that much longer for White Knight Chronicles 2 as Famitsu revealed that it is slated for a summer release in Japan.

[size=+1]David Cage: Next game coming sooner than you think[/size]

Quantic Dream just finished with Heavy Rain a couple of months ago and they are now busy crafting some new DLC for the title with Heavy Rain Chronicles, which will see the first chapter \'The Taxidermist\' release on April 1st, but Cage and his team aren\'t slowing down.
While talking to on the latest episode of GTTV, David Cage stated that he has already written his next title and that we will see the game sooner than we think. Cage stated: "I have written the next game and have a very clear idea. It\'s not fully written, it\'s in the synapses stage, but I have a very clear idea of where I want to go next." When asked about the next game, Keighley says we\'ll have a long wait, in which Cage replied: "Yeah, maybe less then you think."
With the development cycle for games taking a couple of years now, it\'s likely whatever Cage is planning to develop next won\'t be viewed by the public or media for another couple of years, however, knowing he has already written the basics for the story is a major plus. If it uses the same engine as Heavy Rain, perhaps the wait will be far shorter.

What we do know is that it won\'t be a Heavy Rain sequel. He has stated in the past he won\'t revisit the Heavy Rain universe and will create a new world for us to explore. Whatever he is conjuring up, let\'s hope it\'s as original and innovated as Heavy Rain. We\'ll have a full review of the Taxidermist chapter go live on Monday. In what seems to be a record day for big announcements made in underwhelming ways, Sony has confirmed the existence of LittleBigPlanet 2, with a company representative confirming that the game will support the Move controller.

News comes via Tweakers.net (thanks Eurogamer), with a Sony Benelux employee revealing that motion control would be a part of the game. Sony recently bought Media Molecule, who previously worked on the exceptionally well received original game.

IGN has approached Sony Computer Entertainment Europe for official confirmation.

[size=+1]Rumour: Portal 2 coming to PS3, featured in PS3 magazine[/size]

Following the announcement of Portal 2, it was soon revealed that the game would be coming to the Xbox 360, PC and Mac. Valve continued to stress that they would only develop for Sony’s console if they could spend the sufficient time and money needed. Valve may now have achieved that goal, with the appearance of the game on the cover of the PS3-only magazine PSM3.
Portal 2 was announced by Valve last month and we had hoped that the game might make its way to the PlayStation 3. That occurrence seemed unlikely due to the developer’s past with the console, and their disappointment with EA’s PS3 port of The Orange Box.
Valve’s Doug Lombardi was quick to announce that Portal 2 was coming to the PC, Mac and Xbox 360 and with no mention of the PS3, our hopes were dashed. That is until the latest issue of the PlayStation 3 Magazine, PSM3. If you look under “Featuring…” on the front cover, you’ll find Portal 2. A mistake? Or a leak?

seems wrong for a developer to willingly not make the game for a specific platform, even though they dont have exclusivity rights or anything. Just came across really lazy of them that gorilla and naughty dog could get so much out of the ps3 but valve didnt even try to make their games for it because \'boo hooo its too hard\'

Ubisoft’s Maxime Béland has told VG247 that as far as Splinter Cell on PlayStation 3 goes in the future, the company is taking a ‘wait and see’ approach.In an exclusive interview published this morning, however, the creative director of Conviction said Microsoft “has been wonderful” in supporting the title for Xbox 360, which is exclusive to the platform on consoles.“We’ll have to see what decisions are made by Ubisoft’s management in the future,” he said. “The decision for Conviction was purely a business move. Microsoft have been wonderful in their support for Conviction.”He added: “It’s been an absolute pleasure working with them on Splinter Cell Conviction.”Officially, Ubisoft’s said time after time that Splinter Cell: Conviction would be a 360-exclusive, despite numerous claims on the contrary.Unofficially, however, two CVs had been spotted recently, noting that a PS3 version of the title in the works.The most recent PlayStation titles in the series were Double Agent for PS2 and PS3 in 2006 and 2007 respectively, with Ubisoft Montreal handling the PS2 version and Ubisoft Shanghai developing for PS3.

[size=+1]Square Enix: Unannounced Game Will Shock You[/size]

Square Enix USA, perhaps taking a hint from all of Square Enix Japan’s Twitter talk, is teasing an unannounced game.

 “Oh and working on stuff for an unannounced game,” Sonia Im, Assistant Director of Public Relations at Square Enix tweeted. “Think people are going to be shocked and stoked  ”

 Shocked and stoked? Xenogears 2 would fit that description for me, but I’ll curb my expectations now. There are a ton of games Square Enix USA could announce for North America like Nanashi no Game and The 3rd Birthday. None of those would be “shocking” though. Perhaps, this is something brand new.

 Before you post your guess in the comments remember Square Enix owns Eidos. Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, and Kane & Lynch 2, those are all Square Enix properties.

[size=+1]Toy Story 3: The Video Game Revealed For PS3[/size]

Disney has an exciting announcement to make today regarding Toy Story 3. Not only will the PS3 version exclusively feature the ability to play as Zurg, but it will also include some PlayStation Move minigames. Here’s John Day from Avalanche Software to give you some more info on this game, which will be releasing alongside the movie this Summer.

In Story Mode, the player plays as Buzz, Woody, and Jessie, each with their own unique play style, to play through eight action platforming levels. While not a complete retelling of the movie plot, the player will visit some of the places, and meet some of the new and classic characters that are in the film. We take the player to some totally new places as well. Also in Story Mode, we’ve stashed all of our collectibles. The collectibles, when found, allow the player to unlock new toys for the Toy Box.

The Toy Box is a totally different experience from Story Mode. Here we put the player in an open, non-linear environment and allow them to play with Andy’s toys any way they like. The player is free to complete missions for different characters, customize the people and buildings, race in various vehicles, and much more. The more adventurous and creative you are, the more you will get rewarded. I encourage you to unleash your imagination in this mode of the game.

In the Toy Box, the player can play as Buzz, Woody, or Jessie. I am happy to announce that exclusively on the PlayStation 3, you can also play as Zurg! Zurg has many of his own unique missions. Whether it’s driving around in his own custom vehicle, or blasting everything in sight with his tri-gun, players can help Zurg achieve his singular goal of eliminating Buzz Lightyear, or just do whatever else they’d like. Check out our Zurg launch trailer and game screens for a taste of what you can do as this dastardly villain and don’t forget to watch out for Toy Story 3: The Video Game in-stores, 16th July!
