World War 3?!

If any of you have been following the news lately (I rarely do, but this is one of the things that I should), The United States and China are in a tense standoff. The reason is because a U.S. Spy Plane accidently crashed into a Chinese fighter jet and had to make a emergency landing in China, but now the Chinese are not releasing the 24 People aboard that plane.

It\'s been 6-7 days, and yesterday while I was watching one of the ARMY\'S officers said this, and I qoute: "Enough is Enough, China should release our people, and if they don\'t, We\'ll come and get them".

Now The U.S. and China are arguabely(sp?) the two most powerful nations in the world, and this could lead to WW3, just something to think about.

I think this is the moment that psychics have been perdicting. But, Russia is the most powerful nation in the world. next to our good old country. China, which has many troops, doesn\'t have a Navy. So they won\'t be able to get their troups over here. And if the airplaned them over, we\'d just shoot them down. Beijings nuclear forces are about 1/10 the size of hours. Russia is the only country that can really compare to us.

Russia?!, You must be joking me, Russia is so Bankrupt right now. Your mis-informed my friend, United States is comparable to China if not better. But anyhoo.....If U.S. Goes to war, so will Britain so will France. Because they have this little pact, I forgot but my Teacher told me that if anyone of the allied country\'s go to war the others will have to follow.

Russia spent A LOT of money on weapons during the cold war.And they still have them.That\'s what makes them a very formiddable enemy.

I wouldn\'t want to go to war with either the US, Russia nor China. But read my sig and you can see what I think ot the new US president. He\'s a retarded imbicile and he\'s my biggest concern regarding a possible WW3 right now. I just hope the advisors etc. can control that monkey (http://www.bushorchimp.com).

China is hardly a military threat to the United States.  I\'d have to agree that the Soviet Union (is it called that any more?) would still be the country with a nice fat nuclear arsenal left over from the cold war to worry about.

Besides, this isn\'t really an issue that would cause a world war.  China depends on trade with the United States in order to keep their economy moving.  Without that China would crumble into economic despair.  I think they just like to "poke us in the eye" every once in a while to be a pain in the ass... not a big deal though if we all act like grown-ups.

Here\'s the deal. Some here may be young, but remember the Iran hostage crisis?

Iran was holding hundreds of Hostages, and we got through that without a war, bombing or anything of the sorts. Iran arguably is a piss-ant military power with ties to the U.S.S.R. (at the time). If we really wanted to we could have forced Irans hand and went in guns blazing (Instead we traded guns) to get our people back. After all, they (Iran) would have no chance against us and the Soviets would have mosst likely not started WW3 over it.

Now it\'s China.

China is detaining a plane and a handfull of Americans. This is all nationalistic posturing to keep the Chinese people distracted from domestic woes. The only thing that will come of this is haggling and chest beating. In 6 months time you\'ll be hard pressed to find people who will even remember the incident.

Don\'t worry.

Oh, and on the Russia thing. Yes, they are piss-poor, but remember it\'s the domestic economy that is poor. Just as America is in a recession right now. When nations economys go south it\'s the working people that get "poor", the military\'s will ALWAYS get their piece of the pie. Russia, along with China are still very real threats to America, and the rest of the "free world"...Just not over these "detainies" (Hostages)

Actually I\'m glad George W is in charge.  I think he\'ll do great with his foreign policy.  I\'m just glad this didn\'t hit when Clinton was pres.

But I seriously doubt this will lead to any kind of war.  Everybody has spies everywhere and everybody already knows it.  You think China doesn\'t have spies over here?  Look at all those Hunan restaurants.

There are various conflicts going on in the world and it wont stop in the future.
But I hope WW2 was the last of its kind - I lost both my grandfathers to it.

NOONE will go to war with china against the US, IF i comes to that.  look at kuwait and desort storm.  did anyone bother to help them?  no.  china is struggling to hold onto thier dying ways.

im all for kommunism, but china = barbarism
