Germany is an ethnic state. Their nationalism was an ethnic nationalism. I said "in a way still" because I\'m not a 100% sure how ethnic they still feel but from what I researched on Germany (and other European nations) for a couple classes, they are still racist and very German ethnic driven and it has been that way since the times of Bismarck.
Mixed families were not common at all. Germans and Jews very very rarely interbreed (not the word but that\'s all I can think of right now at 2am). Germans have always been anti-semitic, especially back in the day. Germans at the time of the genocide didn\'t know but many didn\'t care, though many opposed but but did nothing or said nothing to stop it.
No shit Germans today that opposed to the Nazi regime will say it was anti-semitic. The entire Nazi movement, though it was more geared toward economic and political reform due to the failings of the Weimar Republic but a huge portion of their rhetoric was anti-semitic and taking advantage of the national sentiments against the German people.

All Jews were targeted. No one was excluded so stop saying that. Hitler hated all Jews, especially the ones who were seen to have power. Hitler executed people and banned those from government for being suspected of having Jewish blood in them.
I wrote a 17 page paper on the rise of Nazism just a month ago and got an A on it. I did extensive research on the subject and especially focused on anti-semitism and citing extremely credible sources and even the source of the rhetoric, Hitlers Mein Kampf.
If you want to read about German anti-semitism in Germany\'s rise of nationalism and anti-semitism in Germany in general, I read this book called Nationalism: Five Roads to Modernity by Liah Greenfeld. She goes into anti-semitism and the role it had in shaping German identity through the age of nationalism and even in German folklore through the centuries.
"Racism" in Germany is as subjective as the "racism" in France. Your classes seem to be very absolute. The Germans today are embarrassed for the happenings of the WW2 and they themselves accuse any repeated tendencies today that were present during and before that era. Actually the German youth feel embarrassed and even inferiority complex towards other European ethnicities for what their previous generations have done. They were so much attacked and humiliated in terms of their national pride especially by the allies that it has caused a serious problem to them. No history book is going to teach you that.
It seems that your teachings about the anti-semitism in Germany that existed for a long time, has let you to see only one side of the coin and that it was an absolute spread idea in every German and the whole Germany itself. Mixed families were not uncommon. Despite the outbursts that occurred in various periods in history the Jewish have lived in Germany for centuries. There were many families between Germans and Jews, and some managed in the 20th century to even build huge fortunes. Into such an extend that rich Jewish families existed and with Germans working for them.

There is nothing that contradicts what I said. I did not reject the existence of anti-semitism in any way. Thats why as I said they formed plans to get rid of the Jews by deporting them outside Germany by force. But the point of mine was that many Germans that will still tell you that there were some Jews that were NOT
initially targeted despite that they were opposing the Nazi\'s and have seen the anti-semitism by first hand. I repeat

I asked about the neo-Nazi\'s because I was extremely astonished that you view the Germans as racists, that consider other nations inferior. Its a different thing to say "racism exists in Germany" with "Germany is a racist nation".
As for Hitler banning everyone with a Jewish blood from political power, I ll note that Hitler was deliberately killing those
that helped him rise in power, and used his mechanisms of propaganda to excuse their extermination in the same way Stalin was using his own mechanisms of propaganda to jail and extinguish his own claiming they were Trotsky spies, Fascists or traitors.
I do not question your knowledge on anti-semitism and the rise of the Nazi\'s but there is more into it.
