RPG sequel question

Hey, about that QFG5 demo.. is that the one that has the full Rite of Conquest on it, or is it the sneak peak demo? If it\'s the full Rite of Conquest, then just go ahead and install it, and I\'ll download a copy tonight so we can play multiplayer sometime. cool?

I have the sneak peek demo.
The one where you can walk around and check out the Thieves guild, but you cant do ANYTHING.
Im planning on getting the full game.
Ill download the real demo soon.

Before I go there I want to know,
Can I do anything with the jewelry?
Whats an easy way to build up my honor?

Heh, well it turns out that the QFG5 demo dosen\'t have the full rite of conquest after all.. and it dosen\'t have multiplayer either. I\'ll download the sneak peak demo from Matt & Jamy\'s later, but I\'ve just spent three hours and about a hundred mb of harddrive space on a short two room demo where you do nothing but fight. What a pisser. You\'d probably be better off just looking at screenshots until you can buy the full game.. the demo isn\'t really worth it, unless you just wanna see what the finished game looks and plays like.

There\'s really nothing to do with the jewelry. Least, I haven\'t found a use for it. AFAIK, you can\'t sell it or give it to anyone.. it\'s just there. You\'d be better off just giving Katrina flowers. Speaking of flowers, there\'s easy way to build honor too. If your a Paladin, you have to give flowers to the Rusulki to keep her from drowning you. Once you\'ve done that, there\'s a bug that won\'t let the flowers leave your inventory... so you can just keep giving her flowers over and over again until your honor is sky high.

That sucks.
I was going to download the demo tonight or so.
I might be getting the full game this wendnesday.
Hopefully they have it at my local EB, so I can get it.
Its too late, I already got captured and now I have 3 days to get the last scroll.
But, now Im getting that damn Error in the swamp.

Why do you lose all yoour Paladin Abilities but Heal when you Import a Character from the other games even if you have them all?
That made me mad.

I dunno, I\'ve never had that problem. When you import a character, it asks you weither or not your character is a Theif, Mage, Fighter, or Paladin. It may be that if you don\'t choose paladin, you loose all the Paladin\'s special abilities.. but I\'m not sure on that one. If you haven\'t patched the game yet, I\'d do that and see if it dosen\'t help.

Like I said before, if you have too much trouble in the swamp just send me a saved game from before you enter swamp or at least before you fight the Chernovy and I\'ll try to get you past. You may have to slow your PC down to 10% or so again.

Nah, I imported as a paladin so I dont know why I lost my abilities.

The saved game should be in your mailbox right now. Just copy-paste the .cat file over your old one and make sure Glorysg.010 is in your directory. When you restore, you\'ll see a savegame called "Beat Error52". I beat the Chernovy, got the ritual for you, and saved on the same screen you were on before reaching the tomb. I had to do that to get around the error. Now you shouldn\'t have to worry about Error52 or any file corruption for the rest of the game.

At some time in the future, you may want to look into buying a 486 specifically to play older games. I\'ll probably end up setting up my old 386 & 486 once I upgrade my Pentium. Then I\'ll hook those three up as servers running Linux and also use them to play all my old games. You may want to do something similar if you play a lot of older titles.

The only older games I ever play are the QFG series.
Are the LSL games this bugged?
Im assuming you beat the Chernovy the mage way, with reflect then flash(or whatever its called),
I would always just stand tere and hit them with magic.
For some reason you dont start getting damaged by them if you dont move till the first one dies, which makes it much easier.

That never works for me. They cast their spells so fast that you\'re dead before you really have the chance to fight back. If you\'ve got magic skills, just cast reversal. Once they figure out that you\'re protected, the screen will go black. Then cast Juggling Lights and you\'ll be thrust into close combat with them. After that it\'s just a matter of a few good dodges, jumps, and slices.

If you don\'t have magic, then just make sure you have a good supply of Healing pills and a good slowdown utility.

Naw, actually I haven\'t had too many problems with Larry. There\'s a few bugs scattered here and there, but it\'s mostly an ocassional annoyance. Really nothing more than any other PC game has. Space Quest is where you run into some major bugs, expecially the windows version of Space Quest IV. The whole mall scene where Roger is running from the Sequel Police is damned neared impossible to play even with a slowdown utility. SQV\'s major trouble spot is when you\'re trying to solve the locking mechanism and take the cloaking device from WD40\'s ship. The King\'s Quest series is pretty solid too, and Police Quest as far as I know. The problem with QFG is that it\'s an RPG/Adventure game that has much more complex code running in the background compaired to just a standard Adventure, which means more of a chance of a conflict from Runtime errors.

Once you get past the bugs caused by having a fast processor, QFG really dosen\'t have that many bugs at all.

Cool. Yeah, I\'ll help ya out with part 5. I\'m not as experienced with it as I am with the other ones, but I\'ve beaten each character type at least once and the Paladin\'s game three or four times.

Speaking of Paladins, there\'s bug in QFG5 that you\'ll have to get patched before you can complete some of the sidequests. Sierra\'s QFGV site still has the patch up, so you may want to download it in the meantime so you don\'t have to mess with it later.
